The Bovet 1822 OttantaSei Flying Tourbillon
A sporty timepiece, the Bovet 1822 OttantaSei Flying Tourbillon is a model that came from the Swiss watch brand’s collaboration with Italian automotive designer Pininfarina — a partnership in 2008. The OttantaSei Tourbillon is proof of alchemy residing within each house.

As directed by Pascal Raffy, CEO of the House of Bovet 1822, the OttantaSei focuses on referencing lightness with luminosity and weight. The watch comes in a 44mm titanium case with a blue circular brushed dial. Weighing just about 51.66g, the watch sits light on the wrist and offers up extreme comfort despite the 44mm case diameter. The crown at noon, a typical bezel, and a single lower lug at 6 o’clock further add to the watch’s overall aesthetic.

Sticking to the “light” theme of the watch is the extreme miniaturisation of the winding mechanism that keeps clutter to a bare minimum while optimising the watch’s mechanics. The main surfaces of the watch consist of four sapphire crystals that evoke the notion of aviation, like the glass surrounding the cockpit of an aircraft or helicopter. Further complexity is added to the watch with a double-sided patented flying tourbillon. The watch is powered by a manually wound Caliber 17BM03 with a 10-day power reserve that offers the time functions and a power reserve indicator.

The Bovet 1822 OttantaSei Flying Tourbillon is available in a black rubber strap and is limited to 86 pieces.
