Speaking at Tesla’s AI Day event, the billionaire entrepreneur said the robot is designed for dangerous, repetitive, or boring work that people don’t like to do

Tesla CEO Elon Musk declared that his electric automobile company is making the following stride in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is good to go to dispatch a humanoid robot model, presumably by the following year. As pictures of the forthcoming robot were disclosed, it surprised online media and reminded individuals about tragic films where cyborgs dominated. A functioning version of the robot didn’t make an appearance during Musk’s reveal, though a slightly bizarre dance by a performer dressed like a Tesla Bot did.

Titled “Tesla Bot” it has been designed for dangerous, repetitive or boring work that people don’t like to do. Speaking at Tesla’s AI Day event, the billionaire entrepreneur said the robot would have “profound implications for the economy” and address labour shortage. He also stressed on the importance of making the new addition to his Tesla family, which he says is not “super-expensive.”

Its head will be kitted out with the autopilot cameras used by Tesla’s vehicles to sense the environment and will contain a screen to display information. Internally, it will be operating via Tesla’s Full Self-Driving computer.

“It’s intended to be friendly,” Musk joked, “and navigate through a world built for humans.”

“We should be worried about AI,” Musk reiterated during a question and answer session after the presentation. “What we’re trying to do here at Tesla is make useful AI that people love and is … unequivocally good.”

Social media is abuzz with jokes and memes online, with netizens sharing their favourite ‘I, Robot’ joke to imagine what it would be like to spend time with the humanoid robot. From going to the market to killing insects, netizens have started imagining hilarious situations in which they might find the Telsa Bot.
