Grand Seiko elevates the art of watchmaking with the debut of its new hand-wound high-beat movement, the Caliber 9SA4, marking a significant advancement in its prestigious Evolution 9 Collection. This launch introduces a stunning new dress watch, inspired by the pristine beauty of white birch trees, a prevalent theme in northern Japan near the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.

The Caliber 9SA4 not only resonates with Grand Seiko's legacy of precision and craftsmanship but revitalizes it, offering an 80-hour power reserve and a 10-beat rate (36,000 vibrations per hour) for enhanced stability and precision. This achievement comes with a redesign that focuses on the tactile, aural, and visual sensations of manual winding—an everyday ritual turned into a luxurious sensory experience. The movement's redesigned components, including a click shaped like a wagtail—a bird special to the watch's production locale—add a personal touch, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

This year’s model, housed in a 38.6mm diameter case, strikes a balance between modern sophistication and the timeless appeal of Grand Seiko's 1967 iconic 44GS design. The watch comes in two versions: the SLGW002, encased in 18k rose gold, and the SLGW003, in Brilliant Hard Titanium. Both feature a dial that mirrors the intricate texture of birch bark, enhancing the watch's connection to nature.

Grand Seiko Masterpiece Collection: Kodo Constant-force Tourbillon

The Grand Seiko Masterpiece Collection once again astonishes with the latest addition to its lineup, the Kodo Constant-force Tourbillon. This piece builds upon the groundbreaking integration of a tourbillon and a constant-force mechanism on a single axis, first introduced in 2022. The new Kodo model, inspired by the light of daybreak, complements its predecessor which evoked the serenity of evening twilight. This duality in design captures the full spectrum of light and shadow, emblematic of Grand Seiko's pursuit of harmonious beauty.

This new timepiece, marked by its luminous aesthetics, features movement components with a silver tone, which are meticulously hand-polished to highlight their intricate craftsmanship. Unique to this model are pale blue sapphires used as jewels within the movement, evoking the freshness of dawn. This detail not only adds a layer of subtle elegance but perfectly aligns with the watch's inspiration.

Grand Seiko Sport Collection: Spring Drive Chronograph GMT

Grand Seiko celebrates two decades of its pioneering Spring Drive technology with the launch of a remarkable new timepiece in the Grand Seiko Sport Collection, the Spring Drive Chronograph GMT Caliber 9R96, model SBGC275. This limited edition watch is inspired by the enchanting early morning light reflecting off the Hotaka mountains in the Shinshu region—home to the Grand Seiko Spring Drive creations.

The SBGC275 showcases a new dial technology named "Optical Multilayer Coating" that captures the essence of a Shinshu sunrise. This patented process uses multiple layers of nanoscale film to create a dial that changes colour based on the viewing angle, mirroring the dynamic and transient beauty of dawn. This effect is further enhanced by the smooth, silent movement of the Spring Drive seconds hand, bringing the serene passage of time to life on the wearer's wrist. Embodying the strength and courage of Grand Seiko's emblematic lion, the watch features a robust, angular case design that symbolizes the brand’s relentless pursuit of excellence in precision, legibility, durability, and aesthetics since 1960. The case and claw-like lugs are meticulously finished, combining hairline and Zaratsu-polished surfaces to reflect light just as the mountain does at sunrise.
