As one of the strongest DC characters, Black Adam's addition to the extended comicbook film universe shakes up the power rankings a lot — but what about the bad guys?

With an obscure new villain at the centre of the film, let's take a closer look at every DC evildoer's strength, and how they rank up against each other.

#5 –– General Zod, Man of SteelSince Zod is also from Krypton, he shares the same abilities as Superman like flight, superstrength, and laser vision which he gets from the Earth's yellow sun. While his greater combat experience gives him a one-up over Superman, Kent's home ground advantage results in him winning the fight — even though the collateral damage was cataclysmic.

#4 –– Sabbac, Black AdamLike Shazam, Sabbac’s power source also includes six demons who grant him the immense powers he possesses. While obscure, this dark counterpart to Black Adam and Shazam is one of DC's oldest baddies — first making an appearance all the way back in 1943.

#3 –– Ares, Wonder WomanAs an 'old god', Ares has one of the more vast powersets of any of the villains in the franchise, almost to the point where they're undefined. He can also greatly influence people while being unperceivable, a power he uses to cause humans to go to war with each other.

#2 –– Doomsday, Batman V SupermanDoomsday was a Human-Kryptonian creature that was made when Lex Luthor  mixed his DNA with the body of General Zod in an ancient Kryptonian ritual. Heat vision, super strength, regeneration — this guy was so hard to kill that even Superman had to take the fall when defeating him.

#1 –– Steppenwolf, Justice LeagueAs a 'new god', Steppenwolf is pretty hard to beat. Massive in size, nearly invulnerable and equipped with dangerous weaponry, it's fortunate that the heroes could resurrect Superman in time for the final battle with this DC powerhouse.
