With an upright stance, the GLB is the one which looks like a proper SUV with its muscular yet clean lines, with big air dams underneath the LED headlights.

The GLB offers the choice of a 1.3-litre petrol engine (165PS) or a 2-litre diesel motor (190PS). Meanwhile, the EQB is powered by a pair of electric motors, which use a 66.5kWh battery pack and delivers a range of up to 423km (WLPTP).

Mercedes claims a 10-100 per cent charge time of 6hrs 25mins with a traditional 11kW AC charger.

But in case you do find a 100kW DC fast charger, 10 to 80 per cent can be done in just 32 minutes. However, the estimated time on the more common 50kW DC charger in India is around 1.5 hours (10-80 per cent).

Both cars fall under Mercedes’ eight-year warranty. The GLB goes up against the Audi Q5, and BMW X3, while the EQB has no competition in its sight.
