Karthik Meiyappan became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20I World Cup 2022, on Tuesday. Meiyappan achieved the feat in the Group Stage game against Sri Lanka. He got rid of Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Charith Asalanka, and Dasun Shanaka on consecutive deliveries.

Brett Lee vs Bangladesh - 2007In the inaugural edition of the tournament, Brett Lee ran through Bangladesh, prising out the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Alok Kapali, to become the first bowler to take a hat-trick in T20I World Cup.

Curtis Campher vs Netherlands - 2021After Brett Lee's heroics in 2007, the T20I World Cup saw a sum total of zero hat-tricks until 2021. Curtis Campher broke the deadlock in the Group A match against the Netherlands, in Dubai. Not only he completed the hat-trick, but also bettered it by taking another wicket on the fourth ball.

Wanindu Hasaranga vs South Africa - 2021Wanindu Hasaranga rattled out the South African middle order, getting the better of Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, and Dwaine Pretorious, to push them into a spot of bother. But Miller's heroics in the last over overpowered Hasaranga's hat-trick as South Africa won that game.

Kagiso Rabada vs England - 2021The 2021 edition of the T20I World Cup saw the third hat-trick when Kagiso Rabada broke through England's lower-order in what was a must-win game for South Africa. Despite the hat-trick, Rabada conceded 48 runs off his quota of four overs.
