It seems like Ola CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has taken inspiration from Elon Musk. Both in terms of developing a futuristic electric car and getting into Twitter feuds. Aggarwal recently posted an image of a concept, hinting at Ola’s expansion into the electric four-wheeler segment.
Next car replacement should be the Ola electric car 😉👍🏼 https://t.co/ZPk1FOdzHW

This drew a mixed bag of reactions from Twitter users, some of whom appreciated the CEO’s move and some who outright rejected the idea. Part of the latter category was Autocar India’s editor Hormazd Sorabjee who tweeted:
Dont jump before you can barely crawl! Such ‘secrets’ maybe good for valuation but not for @OlaElectric’s credibility. Scooter needs to be sorted out first, before even thinking cars which is a completely different ball game that can’t be won with cash alone. https://t.co/kcWcPWVRKb

Which, of course, led Aggarwal to respond.

This response by Aggarwal prompted a number of users to jump on and send replies to the Ola founder. Check out some of them below:
Comment in a very bad taste. You @bhash are unable to take even healthy criticism.
First set your house in order for scooters. Honour the commitment you gave to customers.
Electric cars can wait. https://t.co/p0LabZqY6g

Lmao, man. @hormazdsorabjee has probably forgotten more about automobiles than you will ever learn in a lifetime. I would recommend focusing on delivering vehicles before karening out on social media.

Bro you’re not Elon Musk.
Stop trying so hard.

Sir before start working on car, fix my scooter problem. Got delivery 15 days Back. Left sides keys not working like indicator, horn. Poor response from CC. Sports mode not working. Can you drive EV without horn? I carry whistle as EV don’t make any sound @OlaElectric @OlaScooter

Hmmm…Isn’t #petrolmedia the first set of media you approached to see your product, the first bunch you invited to evaluate your @OlaElectric product, the bunch who your PR team has constantly had to appeal to, and explain why things weren’t working on your product🤷#justsaying

Ola has been making the headlines since last year after the successful launch of the S1 and the S1 Pro. While the two e-scooters garnered good reviews so far, they’ve been marred with delayed deliveries and production issues. Does this remind you of someone else?
