BMW has launched the long-awaited face-lifted X1 in India, fitted with new BS6-compliant engines and a few cosmetic changes.
The new X1 gets bigger kidney grilles, following the latest trend. The face of the X1 is now a lot more aggressive with new, sleeker LED headlights paired with slim LED fog lamps and large air-damps. You also get a new set of trendy allow wheels that add to the character of the X1. The back has also undergone visual changes with a new set of sharp-looking LED taillights.
Inside the cabin, you now get a new 8.8-inch touchscreen iDrive infotainment system which comes with a lot more features, but still only gets Apple CarPlay and not Android Auto. Apart from that, it gets a new panoramic sunroof, Ambient Lighting with six dimmable designs and a micro-activated carbon particulate filter that makes sure the cabin is supplied with pure and clean air.
Under the hood, you get a 2.0-litre petrol that delivers 189 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel also makes 189 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The engines come mated to a Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and the SUV comes with 4 driving modes – ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport.
