Ferrari F80 Unveiled 6 Things To Know
Ferrari F80 Unveiled: 6 Things To Know About The LaFerrari Successor

It’s fast, it’s furious, and it’s the LaFerrari’s turbocharged troublemaker cousin.

Ferrari unveiled the F80 today, and it’s ready to join the ranks of the GTO, F40 and LaFerrari as the latest speed demon from Maranello. Set for a limited run of 799 units, this hybrid beast is all about taking the top spot in the hypercar world. Think of it as LaFerrari’s rebellious younger sibling, but with 1,200PS (about 1183bhp) of power, a fancy V6 engine, and a greenish streak—because even Ferrari knows you have to adapt (but only slightly). Let’s dive into six things you need to know about this new Italian stallion:

6 Things You Need To Know About The New Ferrari F80 Hypercar

1. V6 Meets Hybrid Magic

Ferrari’s giving us a 3 litre, 120° V6 engine that’s been juiced up with a hybrid system inspired by their Le Mans-winning car, the 499P. It cranks out 900PS from the V6 alone, and along with the electric motors, the total comes up to a brain-melting 1,200 PS of power. That’s right—Ferrari took the energy of a small power plant and crammed it into a car that’s as happy on the track as it is cruising (more like roaring) on the road. Expect a 0-100 km/h time in under 2 seconds and a shot at breaking records on their Fiorano circuit. Yes, it’s hybrid, but think more "Frankenstein’s monster of speed" than "vegan leather".

2. Hybrid Tech, But Make It Faster

Ferrari ditched the V12 engine which the LaFerrari uses for a turbocharged V6, but don't think they’ve gone soft. With e-turbos to eliminate turbo lag and Formula 1-inspired tech, the F80 promises instant power delivery like never before. It’s like that friend who says they’ll "be there in 5 minutes"—and actually means it. This setup should ensure the F80 delivers a relentless, neck-snapping experience without compromising on speed or excitement.

3. Carbon Fiber For Days

In the world of hybrids, weight is usually the enemy. But Ferrari went all-in on carbon fibre, making sure the F80 doesn’t carry any extra weight. Chassis, body... everything is trimmed down for maximum agility. Even with its hybrid battery—this car is all about maintaining Ferrari’s signature razor-sharp handling.

4. Tech That’ll Make You Feel Like an F1 Driver

The F80 might look aggressive, but it’s got a brain to match those biceps. With active suspension, adaptive aerodynamics and techy gadgets in the cockpit, it can reach 200 km/h in seconds. Think active spoilers, smart vents and a rear diffuser that adjusts faster than you can say "Ciao!" The car’s onboard tech ensures you stay glued to the tarmac even when you’re pushing its limits.

5. Race-Ready Interiors

The F80’s cabin is all about putting the driver in the spotlight. Inspired by Formula 1, the interior feels like an enclosed cockpit, with everything angled towards the driver for that "1+1" effect. The passenger seat is tucked slightly behind the driver’s for a snug fit that keeps the cabin aerodynamic without sacrificing comfort. It’s a sleek space designed to make you feel like you’re wearing the car, not just sitting in it, so to speak.

6. A New Era, A New Holy Trinity

Move over, LaFerrari—there’s a new hypercar trinity in town, and the Italian outfit wants the F80 to lead the charge.  Ferrari is betting big on their new toy to join McLaren’s W1 and Bugatti’s Tourbillon and form the new hypercar trinity. It’s essentially a LaFerrari 2.0, but with a decade of R&D and all the hybrid tech you’d expect from a company that spends its weekends dominating Formula 1. Maranello’s latest masterpiece is here, and it’s ready to show the world how hybrid power should be done.
