We’re getting close. Indian buyers have been patiently waiting for the arrival of the new, 2020 Hyundai i20 and Hyundai India decided to tease everyone by releasing a few design sketches of the i20, to feed our curiousity.

From the looks of it, the new Hyundai i20 will carry the phenomenal design language of its predecessors. The new designs show the i20 as an extremely sporty hatch with a stunning, modern design language.

The rear of the new i20 reminds us of the Tata Altroz, with its taillights placed on a striking, partially blacked-out tailgate.

Hyundai themselves are describing the car as “Sensuous Sportiness.”

Hyundai’s press statement read:

“Deriving its futuristic and dynamic characteristics from ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, the all-new i20 brings harmony between four fundamental elements: Proportion, architecture, styling and technology.

The all-new i20 is designed to evoke an emotional Human – Machine interface representing the persona of Modern Tech Savvy, Ambitious & Sophisticated customers. Set to recreate benchmarks of the premium hatchback segment, the all-new i20 showcases an energetic new avatar and a serene ambience on the inside.”

The new i20 will join Hyundai’s star-studded 2020 stable. The carmaker already has a formidable grip on the Indian automotive market, in almost every segment. The i20 has always proven to be a reliable offering, and Hyundai will use that earned trust to launch the new i20. Prices can be expected to start from Rs 6.5 lakh going all the way up to Rs 9 lakh.

When released, the i20 will look to take on the biggies of the premium hatchback segment. The hatch will butt heads with the Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and the new Honda Jazz.
