KTM Launches It's Big Bike Lineup In India

Yes, this includes the Super Duke R and its range of dirt bikes

After years of hoping, praying, and maybe even a little pleading, KTM India has finally rolled out some of its big bikes here, including non-road-legal dirt bikes for the brave among us. It’s not KTM’s first attempt at the Indian superbike scene, though. They introduced the KTM 790 Duke back in 2019, only to pull it a year later due to BS4 regulations crashing the party. The Austrian brand also showed off the RC8R in 2013, though it never saw the light of an official Indian launch. But at last, Team Orange seems serious about the Indian market, and here’s what they’re now offering:

KTM 890 Duke R, KTM 890 Adventure R, KTM 890 Adventure R Launched In India

The 890 Duke R proves that big thrills can come in compact, edgy orange packages. Weighing in light but packing 120 PS, this streetfighter is here to put your skills (and nerves) to the test. But if you need a safety net, it’s loaded with cornering ABS, a quick-shifter, and a TFT display to keep you grounded—at least a little. It’s light, powerful, and all kinds of fun—just what you need for city streets and weekend romps.

For those who like a little more adrenaline with their scenery and don’t want to be associated with dentists riding beemers, the 890 Adventure R brings a solid 121 PS, rally mode, KTM’s off-road ABS, and dual-purpose tyres to the table. It’s basically designed to make you feel like one of KTM’s Dakar riders. With adjustable suspension, the 890 Adventure R is ready for anything.

With a hearty 162 PS, the 1290 Super Adventure S was built for the long road (and a strong grip). Designed with adaptive cruise control, semi-active suspension, and cornering lights, this machine is fully loaded with tech, making it ideal for those who want to tour in comfort and speed.

KTM 1390 Super Duke R

If the Duke was a gentle menace, the Super Duke R is a full-on nightmare (in the best way). With a jaw-dropping 181 PS on tap, KTM’s self-proclaimed “Beast” is probably not for the faint-hearted. Weekend riders, beware; this one requires dedication and time in the saddle. That said, it’s kitted out with lean-sensitive ABS and wheelie control, giving you a fighting chance at taming it.

KTM Dirt Bike Range

And for those who prefer their thrills off the asphalt, KTM’s dirt bike lineup is finally here. Starting at ₹4.75 lakh, this lineup includes models like the 250 SX-F, 450 SX-F, and 500 EXC, each crafted with KTM’s racing know-how. Featuring lightweight builds, advanced traction control, and WP suspensions, these bikes are made for those who don’t mind getting a little (or a lot) dirty

What’s even more intriguing is KTM’s global position right now, which isn’t exactly looking rosy. Pierer Mobility, KTM’s parent company, issued a statement in July hinting at a tough year ahead, with 2024 sales slipping in both European and American markets. They’re bracing for a 10 to 15 percent dip in sales compared to last year, a drop that’s hardly ideal timing. Especially now, with KTM juggling multiple sub-brands like MV Agusta and Husqvarna, neither of which are exactly setting sales records ablaze. The question now is whether Team Orange can dig itself out of this rut by doubling down on the world's fastest-growing two-wheeler market—India.
