Carmakers now are all about making fast electric cars or making hybrid tweaks in their latest cars. Everyone always assumed that Ferrari was not interested in doing so, but they put those notions to rest by revealing its first production plug-in hybrid, the SF90 Stradale.

The SF90 Stradale is made up a 986-horsepower, plug-in hybrid engine that propels the car from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds. The 7.9-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery allows the Stradale to travel up to 25 kilometres on electricity alone. When you step inside, you’ll see a brand-new technologically revamped cabin. The steering wheel now allows access to the hybrid mode with other sport mode options.

The pricing for the SF90 Stradale has not been released yet, but Ferrari did mention that this won’t be a special edition vehicle, so there should be enough for everyone. 

Although this isn’t a pure electric supercar from Ferrari, it is a start. It goes to show that the carmaker isn’t opposed to going down the ‘e’ route.
