India-Bound Volvo XC40 Recharge Gets Cosmetic Tweaks

Along with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, its coupe version, the C40 Recharge gets updated with a single-motor option

Volvo has updated the XC40 Recharge for 2022. The tweaks, however, are so minor you may need a magnifying glass to spot them. And yes, the updated XC40 Recharge is headed to India later this year.

So what’s new on the Volvo XC40 Recharge? Our eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed very subtle changes to the front of the XC40 Recharge. The EV now comes with an EV-specific grille, which is essentially a curved panel, as there is no need for a larger cooling area.

Along with that, the Thor hammer-shaped LED headlights now come with pixel-light technology that lets it adapt to different traffic conditions without dazzling other drivers.

Inside the updated Volvo XC40 Recharge, the upholstery is largely similar to the pre-facelift models. Being a Volvo, premium soft-touch panels and high-quality leather interiors come as standard. However, there’s the option of sustainable vegan interiors as well. Volvo also claims the Android-powered infotainment system will now provide a better end-user experience.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be the company’s first all-electric offering in India. It is powered by a 69kWh battery pack that is said to allow a range of 434km.

Along with the XC40 Recharge, Volvo has also updated the C40 Recharge Coupe with a single motor option (seen on the XC40), to provide a new entry-level option beneath the dual-motor option. It makes 231hp, and gets the same battery pack and offers the same range as the XC40. it can charge from 10-80 percent in just 32 minutes via a fast-charging system.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge will come to India later this year and is expected to cost Rs 60 lakh.
