Zoya Akhtar is to direct a web series based on the globally eminent Archie comics for the OTT platform Netflix and Agastya Nanda is apparently to be seen in the same.

The project was earlier cause for a buzz as speculations were that this could be the debut series for a number of star kids.

Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has been decided upon to play a part. Two other star kids will be launched in the making of this show by the filmmaker. According to a report, Zoya Akhtar is set to launch Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor alongside Khan.

Reports earlier were uncertain, claiming either Ibrahim Ali Khan or Agastya Nanda will probably join the two. However, now a report seems to have confirmed that we would be seeing Nanda in the show.

“Agastya has always been inclined towards acting and after completing the basic education, is all geared up to live his acting dream. Contrary to the conventional mode of entering the world of showbiz, Agastya will first appear in Zoya’s directorial for the digital world and then move onto the big screen spectacles. He is already prepping for the role and if things go as planned, he is all set to play the titular role of Archie in Zoya’s feature film for Netflix,” revealed a source close to the development.

While what characters Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor will be portraying remains unconfirmed for now, reports claim the two can be expected to play Betty and Veronica respectively.

Zoya is said to be working on the script currently and will certainly take the project on floors by this year. “With so much uncertainty around the theatrical medium, Zoya will complete her digital venture first and only then move onto her much-awaited gangster drama, which is said to be featuring Ranveer Singh and Katrina Kaif in lead,” added the source.

Agastya Nanda is Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson.
