Kangana Ranaut recently got into an ugly Twitter spat with Diljit Dosanjh regarding the farmer protests. Ranaut went on to misidentify an elderly woman protester as Bilkis Bano, fondly known as ‘Shaheen Bagh dadi‘, and claimed that she can be hired for ‘100 rupees’. Ranaut went on to delete the tweet.

Diljit Dosanjh called Kangana Ranaut out on her false information and derogatory comments about the protesting farmers and the actress went on to call him “Karan Johar ka paltu“.

For those who are still unaware, thousands of farmers are protesting against a set of three laws passed in September by the Narendra Modi government that seeks to deregulate India’s agriculture sector. While the government claims that the laws will benefit farmers, the farmers believe that the main beneficiaries of the laws will be agricultural corporations who have the big bucks.

Now, according to Punjabi musician, Singga, Diljit Dosanjh has reportedly made a donation of Rs 1 crore to the protestors so they can keep warm during the freezing Delhi winter.

“Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and nobody knows. You didn’t post about it. Nowadays people can’t shut up after donating Rs 10,” Singga said, according to Business Today.

On Saturday, Dosanjh also participated in the farmer protests at the Delhi border. “Hats off to all of you farmers, you have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone,” the musician and actor said.

“I want to request the government- do not divert from the issues. There is no other discussion going on here apart from that related to farmers. Whatever the farmers want, the government should accept. All are sitting peacefully. There is no talk of bloodshed. Everyone twists [facts] on Twitter,” he added, according to BT.

During the Twitter spat with Kangana Ranaut, Indian Boxing champion Vijender Singh, Ranjit Bawa, Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, Ravinder Singh, Humble the Poet, Mika Singh, Jasbir Jassi, and Jassie Gill had come together to support Dosanjh.
