Leonardo DiCaprio And Martin Scorsese Reunite For Their Seventh Movie Together
Leonardo DiCaprio-Martin Scorsese Classics You Must Watch

Leonardo DiCaprio first partnered with Martin Scorsese for 2002’s Gangs of New York.

Some duos simply mesh well together. Case in point: Leonardo DiCaprio And Martin Scorsese . The cinematic pairing of the director-actor duo has given rise to a volley of masterpieces that merit a binge-watch over the decades. Years after they last worked in 2013, the two are back to working together on two brilliant projects now in 2022.

While DiCaprio And Scorsese have already filmed their sixth offering, Killers of the Flower Moon, the seventh movie, is an adaptation of the non-fiction book, The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder. Both the projects are set up by Apple Original Films. Set against the backdrop of the 1700s, the storyline traces a British naval ship crew that ends up shipwrecked on a desolate island, off the coast of Patagonia, during a secret mission to obtain a Spanish treasure-filled galleon.

Looking back at the kind of films Scorsese has made with his muse, DiCaprio, it’s unsurprising to note that expectations around their latest release have peaked, and is likely to be a classic like many others.

But before you go and watch the upcoming release, here’s a peek into their glorious past— a DiCaprio-Scorsese movie lowdown, which clearly proves what a winning riot the duo is!

Gangs Of New York

The historical drama stars DiCaprio alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, Cameron Diaz, and Liam Neeson. The actor essays the role of an Irish-American who is seeking vengeance for the his father’s death. Scorsese did complete justice to riveting narrative, and brought out the best of DiCaprio as a distraught character who sought revenge against the man who murdered his father.

Shutter Island

An iconic masterwork that Shutter Island is, fans got to see DiCaprio ace the game in a double role. Pegged as one of his best works to date, DiCaprio’s portrayal of Deputy U.S. Marshal is proof that only Scorsese can get Hollywood’s timeless heartthrob to pull off a dark character with enviable ease. The film also stars Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Max von Sydow.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

Leonardo DiCaprio And Martin Scorsese joined forces to conjure up this masterpiece. What’s more, Scorsese managed to peel of DiCaprio’s ‘good boy’ image post Titanic, and did a stellar job at that that. Needless to say, DiCaprio did complete justice in his role as a real-life stockbroker Jordan Belfort.

The Aviator

The duo returned with a biopic titled The Aviator. Based on the life of Howard Hughes, the film shed light on the ups and downs in the life of a movie director and airplane pilot, which eventually finds him succumbing to OCD. Scorsese captured DiCaprio in myriad shades in this well-crafted movie, so much so, one feels both sympathy and a bit of disdain for the character.

The Departed

Scorsese roped in DiCaprio as an undercover cop with this bestselling movie. While many are of opinion that Matt Damon was the star of the film, there’s also no refuting how DiCaprio stole the show in more ways than one.. Many fans continue to believe that this role should have been his ticket to an Oscar nomination and a certain win, thanks to a superlative performance that was possible only because Scorsese unfailingly unleashed his directorial prowess yet again!
