Fans are pretty excited to see Jordan’s directorial debut, but he is not the first actor to venture into film-making, of course. In the past, many bigwigs from Hollywood have tried their hands at directing a project, and have given the audience some satisfying results. So before we get to see the Creed actor entertain the audience with his directorial, check out who in Hollywood has added this feather to their hat before.
Bradley Cooper
A Star Is Born is a critically-acclaimed film and most of the credit for the same goes to Bradley Cooper. His directorial debut was a massive hit where we saw him as the co-writer, producer, lead actor, and director. Working all these years in the industry, he was able to grasp everything he perhaps could about film-making, and treated his fans with such a beautiful film.
Jonah Hill
His journey from a teen comedy breakout in Superbad to becoming an Oscar nominee for Moneyball is quite impressive, but the actor had several other tricks up his sleeves to dazzle his fans. His first feature as a director, titled Mid90s, was a coming-of-age skate film that made a huge impact on the audience and this was just the beginning of something awesome. He learned how to direct actor from the best with ‘professors’ like Martin Scorsese and the Coen brothers, always inspiring him to do the best.
John Krasinski
A Quiet Place was without a doubt, a masterpiece. The film might not have been a big commercial hit, but people were impressed with John Krasinski’s direction. The actor who marked his directorial debut with this silent monster movie was praised for the plethora of visual and technical feats, and the emotional core that the film has to offer.
Elizabeth Banks
Elizabeth Banks ventured into direction with Pitch Perfect 2, and then went on to direct another female-led franchise, Charlie’s Angels. Both the films were massive hits and ever since, Banks has been effortlessly juggling between being an actor, director, and a producer. She is currently working on her next directorial titled Cocaine Bear as well.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie got into directing in 2014. Her first film as a director was Unbroken, and then she went on to work as a director for films like By the Sea, and First They Killed My Father. She is considered as one of Hollywood’s most independent and talented directors as she makes movies addressing powerful and often upsetting issues, without any equivocation.
Coming back to Creed III, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad are assumed to also reprise their roles for the new movie. The script of Michael B. Jordan’s film is being written by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin based on an outline by Ryan Coogler.
