Remember when a section of desi Twitter started discussing how the recently announced multiplayer action game FauG (Fearless And United – Guards) is the brainchild of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput?

The Indian game developer nCore Games had come out strongly against these rumours and also addressed concerns that the poster for the game was plagiarised.

“This statement is being issued to address certain ongoing conversations/rumors on social media that FAU-G was conceptualized by late actor Shri Sushant Singh Rajput, which is completely false and baseless. nCore was founded in 2019 by an Indian entrepreneur Mr. Vishal Gondal and Mr Dayanadhi MG & others who have been in the gaming industry for over 20 years. It involves a team of over 25 programmers, artists, testers, designers who have worked on top gaming titles in the past and are currently developing the FAU-G game,” the statement read, on their Twitter feed.

FauG was announced by actor Akshay Kumar as a made-in-India alternative to popular multiplayer shooting game PUBG, which was recently banned by the Indian government.

Now, on Republic Day 2021, the actor took to social media to launch the highly-awaited mobile game.

“FAU-G : Fearless And United Guards. Face the enemy. Fight for your country. Protect our Flag. India’s most anticipated action game, Fearless and United Guards: FAU-G takes you to the frontlines and beyond! Start your mission today,” the actor wrote in a post.

Currently, the game is available on the Google Play Store but not for iOS users.

“Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face-to-face with India’s enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil. Fight for survival against the unforgiving terrain and the implacable enemy,” reads the game description.

According to Akshay Kumar’s September 2020 announcement, 20 per cent of the net revenue generated will be donated to Bharat Ke Veer Trust.
