Mrunal Thakur Roped In For Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Hindi Remake Of Thadam
Mrunal Thakur has swiftly shifted her focus from television to movies. The actress, who marked her debut with Super 30, is already few projects old in the industry. The actress has now been roped in to essay the female lead in Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster, Thadam.
Sharing a picture with Roy Kapur today (September 6), Thakur confirmed being a part of the action thriller. “It’s time for a face-off!! @adityaroykapur are you ready? Super excited to work in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit, #Thadam, to be directed by @v__________k . Produced by #BhushanKumar’s @tseriesfilms & @muradkhetani‘s @cine1studios @aseemarrora @tseries.official,” she wrote. The film’s announcement was made on July 29, when the makers of the remake shared a picture with Roy Kapur and confirmed him as the male lead of the film.

Talking more about the Hindi remake, the title of the film is yet to be decided. The film is backed by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. Debutant director Vardhan Ketkar will be directing the film and the shoot for the same will start in October 2021 in Delhi. Sidharth Malhotra was initially roped in to play the lead, but the makers later opted to work with Aditya Roy Kapur for the film.
Thadam is a Tamil action-thriller inspired by true events. The story revolves around the murder of a young man, and things get compliated when the key accused is found to have a look-alike. The Tamil film was directed by Magizh Thirumeni.
Talking more about Mrunal Thakur, she is also all set to mark her Telugu debut with a romantic film starring Dulquer Salmaan. The makers of the film unveiled the first character look of the actress on July 29. She will be essaying the role of Sita in the film which is set in an army backdrop. Salmaan will be essaying the role of Lieutenant Ram in the film.
