In the past, there have been reports that suggested that the Justice League director, Joss Whedon, has misbehaved with the Wonder Woman actor Gal Gadot. While she never addressed these rumours before, the actress has now opened up about her equation with Whedon. She revealed that the director had threatened her career while they were working together on the set of 2017’s Justice League.

In an interview with Israel’s N12 News, Gadot stated, “What I had with Joss basically is that he kind of threatened my career and said if I did something he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot.” The Hollywood Reporter had earlier reported that Gadot had concerns with the direction the movie and her character was taking, and hence Whedon reacted this way. The report also stated that the director had depreciated Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman’s director as well.
Gal Gadot is, however, not the first actor to open up about Joss Whedon’s misbehaviour on sets. Earlier, Ray Fisher, who played the role of Victor Stone or Cyborg, had also opened up about Whedon’s alleged misconduct with cast members. In July last year, he tweeted, “Joss Wheadon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.”
In February this year, Charisma Carpenter, who played the role of Cordelia Chase, also said Whedon has a “history of creating toxic and hostile work environments.” Warner Bros is said to have conducted an investigation after Fisher’s accusations. Remedial actions have been taken, and it is being said that Whedon will be removed from the HBO fantasy series The Nevers.
Apart from this, when asked what her biggest struggle has been, Gadot had recently revealed that it is the pay disparity between her and her male co-stars. Back when her 2017 superhero blockbuster Wonder Woman had released, stories that the actress was paid less than what her male counterparts earned in similar roles had surfaced online, and even after so many years, the actress still feels she is a victim of it.
