Here’s Why We Don’t Like The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Soundtrack

We definitely think Bollywood is finally evolving with the much-anticipated Karan Johar film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, with an older woman-younger man combination which is quite a digression from what we are usually served (read here).

(Also, read why the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer is a disappointment)

But we’re pretty unhappy with the music of the Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai starrer, that seems to be churning out songs  filled with grief, despair and heartbreak with little to no variety.

Here are some reasons why we don’t like the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil soundtrack.

Every song is excessively depressing and keeps going on and on about unrequited love. It would have been a great idea if at least one song was about friendship or happier times, maybe?

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Title Track

We don’t like the fact that the opening riff of Bulleya has been copied from Papa Roach’s Last Resort (Listen to it here). Pritam, own up to it. You did do a Ctrl-C Ctrl-V.

At the end of the day, all the songs sound the same. They have elements of Sufi Rock vibe to it. Where is the variety?

Lastly, using Arijit Singh to sing for Ranbir Kapoor is really not a good idea because neither of them sound like either of them.
