Kareena Kapoor Khan welcomed her second baby boy to the world back in February along with Husband Saif Ali Khan. According to a book she recently released about her pregnancy, the actress had contemplated surrogacy as a means to have her children.

The actress released her book, which she calls her third baby, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The ultimate manual for moms-to-be, a few days ago.

In the book is an afterword by Saif Ali Khan. He mentions how the toll that pregnancy might take on Bebo’s striving career made the actress consider involving a surrogate in their family planning.

“Things are pressured for a female actor in our industry. How you look is often everything! When we first began our relationship, she was at size zero, shopping in the kids’ section of stores because those were the only things that would fit her. She was doing super well for herself with work and her appearance played a big part in it,” went the afterword.

He further stated, “Pregnancies take their toll on your body; it takes you a while to return to shape. Kareena was worried about these things. When we first talked about having children, she even briefly wondered if she should consider a surrogate. But she then realized that everything in life needs your 100 per cent. Once she had made up her mind, she was all in.”

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan began their romance on the sets of ‘Tashan’ in 2007. The couple went on to marry in October of 2012, in the presence of close family, hosting a grand post-wedding bash for their friends from the industry. The couple welcomed Taimur Ali Khan in 2016 and were blessed with a second son, Jehangir Ali Khan, in 2021.

Her book about her pregnancy journey was launched on an Instagram live in the presence of long-time friend Karan Johar on August 9 and is available now to purchase.
