Robert Lewandowski's Barcelona Shirt Goes Out Of Stock After Club Runs Out Of Letter 'W'
Barcelona Can’t Sell Robert Lewandowski’s Shirts After Offical Stores Run Out Of Letter ‘W’

Barcelona acquired Lewandowski for a sum of €50 million on a four-year deal.

Hours after Barcelona confirmed the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, the club’s official shop in Camp Nou ran out of his jersey due to a bizarre reason. As per the staff of the Nike shop, they ran out of letter W to be printed on the back of Lewandowski’s shirts.

“Because we don’t have the letter W and because he has two in his name, we have run out,” said the man at the checkout. Apparently, Martin Brathwaite is the only player with the letter ‘W’ in his name.

Barcelona acquired Lewandowski for a sum of €50 million on a four-year deal, and the buyout clause is set at an astronomical €500 million. The Polish striker flew to Miami for a medical checkup, and also met his future teammates, who are in the US for the pre-season friendlies.

“I’m finally here. I’m delighted to be at Barca,” Lewandowski said. “The last few days have been very long, but the deal is done and now I can focus on a new chapter and challenge in my life. I’ve always wanted to play in La Liga and for the big clubs. I’m here to help Barca get back to the top and win as many titles as possible.”

Just after the 2021-22 season ended, Lewandowski publicly expressed his desire to quit Bayern Munich, but the club wanted him to complete the remaining one year left in his contract. It was also reported that Lewandowski didn’t attend any training sessions in Munich, as he had already made up his mind to try a different challenge.

Lewandowski will join Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, and Raphinha, as the fourth new arrival at the club. Ever since Lionel Messi departed, Barcelona has struggled to find a perfect replacement.

While Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s arrival in the winter improved their goal-scoring efficiency, the club still needed one more world-class striker to increase the bench strength. In Lewandowski, they have got a proven goal-scorer, who has won the European Golden Shoes award twice in the last two years.
